Newbie guide

Postby Dragoth » Sun Nov 21, 2010 11:08 pm

Hey guys as most of you know, im putting together a database of major topics for newbies to read. I'm practically done with the script and i have about a few days work left to have it exactly where i want it to be in terms of functionality. However, writing tome after tome of newbie helpful info, i dont enjoy so much. I have about 12 helpfiles i wrote in txt format, so if you think you could have the time to either run through them and edit, or add something new or write a completely new helpfile on another topic i'm sure newbies would appreciate. If you want newbies to understand the game that we love so much here's your chance to contribute!

helpfiles i have so far are:basics, talking, movement, killing, death, equipment, character, levels, skills, spells , group (1/3 complete) necromancer guide, mage guide.

If you would like to help out just send Anrok a mail with your email through ingame mail system and i will send you either a zip with all the files or a selected txt file.

The purpose of this is to expand on the ingame helpfiles and to organize them in a coherent and interactive way so a) newbie knows where to look for helpfiles he needs b) newbie recieves information beyond what helpfiles can provide. c) newbie recieves answers to questions that ingame helpfiles cant ever provide.

Happy to help if you want, why not post files on here for comment?

Do you have a commitment from the imms to put in game?

Each guide is about 30 lines long. Too much spam i suppose. I have spoken to Chobbs about involving immortals to run through the guides to make sure they are happy with everything in it and possibly edit and add to the texts. He never did any of this personally, but told me that he did not mind a project like this.
