Armor class complaint

Postby Dragoth » Fri May 08, 2009 8:49 am

Well it was mentioned that every armor point now counts, but i have so far gained -2 whole points and went from -2.4 to -4.4 and i can honestly say i see absolutely no difference, mobs still hit me as much if not more and i have even tested this by removing some of my eq and it makes no difference whatsever. Elderly men in newbatia still hit me as much at -4.4 as they used to hit me at +2, whats the deal?

It would be hard to confirm this thru casual observation. Statistically there should be very little difference between -2 and -4 on a mob with very poor hitroll. I haven't heard any other reports of ac failing to work, but I'll keep my ears open and do some testing if necessary.

The deal is the game as you once knew it is now broken and will never be the same.

You probably tried it out enough in the process of getting 9 levels to understand wtf you are talking about I'm sure.

Ive played enough different muds to know whats going on. I enjoyed my time here and don't regret the friends Ive made. And yes, I have seen enough in my 9 levels to know whats going on. Hell, when you have 18 yrs of mudding exp it doesn't take getting 40 levels to know when things have changed enough to know what you do and don't like.

For me the party is over and I shall go on, enjoy your journey and I shall enjoy mine.

Shrugs Alias, I personally have no problems at all with the game so far except for some minor complaints. Im playing almost the same class i played before and i can report no major shifts in the progress of the game that i experienced before. Yes i have more skills, yes my armor is not working as well as it was before.

There are more players online than there ever were, some are staying on for 10 hours a day (including me). Yes lots have went away because they got upset of being deprived of their hard-earned EQ but also alot of old-timers have come back because they know they have a chance to now catch up with everyone else and choose a class they finally like. Yes the game is a little different now with characters harbouring more power now, but this isnt bad and it isnt really different from the sloth we had before.

Before this change you really had to think hard to choose a class to make you powerful in the end as your abilities were limited, now even if you are a total noob and choose a class order without understanding the mechanics you will still have all the skills in the end, so its more forgiving.
Yes everyone will be more or less the same, but this is being dealt with by the like of giving powerful spell access only to prime in a particular class, so somedifferences will still remain.

I personally feel this game is on the right track, alot of people are/were upset with their hard earned being deleted in a blink of an eye but the point of the game is to keep you entertained and where the old game simply ran out of room, this offers a much longer-term view. And who cares what you lost if what you've gained gets you even more involved than you were with all the EQ and levels you had before. I personally find it fun to kill kobolds all over again but this time with alot of knowledge about the game in my backpack. I know what EQ i need to get, what stats i need to reroll what areas i need to run and i find it fun to use all the knowledge i gained over the years to noob ways and gain levels more quickly than i ever could.

Good hunting to all you folks who are enjoying your new sloth characters!
