Question about Armor Cap

Postby Dragoth » Sat Apr 25, 2009 9:29 am

So with 8 classes we all have a warrior in our classo, so does that mean that everyone is able to reach -11ac max?

Does that make the armor proficiency skill useless and the only difference is between war prime and non war prime?

Just needs clearing up, cheers.

Well sorry, had a better think about it, obviously it doesnt make it useless as people with war second will be able to get -11ac sooner than someone with warrior quad etc. :idea:

My perception is a lot of stuff hasn't been worked out yet... It's being fixed and adjusted "ad hoc" as we go along. Who is even -8 yet? Nothing wrong with this. But you know how this game has always gone, as players found smart ways of getting ahead, immortals made changes to cut back players. I think there is going to be pain ahead with "counter adjustments" when we reach 5x40.

The top players have to understand that the immortals will be watching them like hawks balancing the game as they forge ahead in front of us. Just like the kobold farming incident, they were watching top level players and adjusting the game based on what they were doing to get ahead. The behaviour of the top players is going to end up effecting all of us, as the immortals use this behaviour to balance the game as we travel into the unknown. Your being watched, your the benchmark for all of us, please play responsibly.

Because everyone has the same things these days... and people tend to use only there best facets... entire skills/spells people relied upon in the old game at 4x40 may never be used again. Like who is ever going to use blast spells of druids and cleric when everyone will have mage these days? The skills and spells are likely to be even more redundant these days. The lines between tank/healer/blaster have been blurred. Things that used to work because we only had 4 classes like shapeshifting might be pointless with the 6 attacks, pets and -11, that now everyone can have. There may be changes to make primes stronger at a later date to balance the "samish" factor.

I posted a long message, but I must of timed out. Basically I thought the
exact samething. Since this is the new Sloth, Imm will keep making changes
to make this game better. My opinion would to limit everyone's spells/skills
after their 4th class they pick. example
5th = lvl35 spells/skills they can use
6th = lvl30 spells/skills they can use
7th = lvl25 spells/skills they can use
8th = lvl20 spells/skills they can use

This will make everyone think what classes they will pick.

Some of the coolest skills/spells are prime only, do we really have to nerf everyone? I mean why even bother leveling past 4th class? The beauty of this sloth is that if you work hard enough for it you can get almost every skill and spell, which is what drew me to sloth in the first place.

I'm not sure how I feel about ferret being so low level, but heavy armor is pretty high on the warrior levels. I have a feeling it is going to take a person a long time to get -11 even with a lot of eq. And remember, there are a lot of changes going on, we don't even know what is going to happen in the coming months, but so far the creators have done some pretty nice things.

It's been pretty hard on everyone starting over, but I was losing interest. This is probably the best thing the creators could have done at this point to revive the lifeblood within the game and I say good job to you all, keep up the good work.

Since how restoration, frostbolt and wraithform is prime only, it would only make sense if HAP is set to Wa Prime only.

Just looking at the who list i saw the first four classes are separated i thought it was natural for those four classes to provide main characteristics behind your character. I.e anyone with warrior out of those 4 main classes will get the skills like tert attack etc, but will not be able to have -11ac as its out of the main 4 classes.

Same with other bonuses - i.e anyone with mage fifth will not be able to have any bonus blasting and necro fifth wont give any undead bonuses, cleric fifth wont allow for healing bonuses, monk will no longer give damage reduction, etc.

I think its the most common sense and easiest to code in so i hope that catches on.
