"llinois Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich and his Chief of Staff, John Harris, were arrested today by FBI agents on federal corruption charges alleging that they and others are engaging in ongoing criminal activity: conspiring to obtain personal financial benefits for Blagojevich by leveraging his sole authority to appoint a United States Senator; threatening to withhold substantial state assistance to the Tribune Company in connection with the sale of Wrigley Field to induce the firing of Chicago Tribune editorial board members sharply critical of Blagojevich; and to obtain campaign contributions in exchange for official actions – both historically and now in a push before a new state ethics law takes effect January 1, 2009."

http://www.abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story ... 985&page=1

"Told by two other advisers he has to "suck it up" for two years, the FBI says it heard Blagojevich complain he has to give this "motherf***er [the president-elect] his senator. F*** him. For nothing? F*** him."

The governor is heard saying he will pick another candidate "before I just give f***ing [Senate Candidate l] a f***ing Senate seat and I don't get anything."

[b:1xjfwc5r]I'm glad that the Democrat party is united in these times of change.

Here's another.[/b:1xjfwc5r]

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/200 ... appraisal/

"A former Illinois bank official, now claiming whistleblower status, says bank officials replaced a loan reappraisal that he prepared for a Chicago property that was purchased by the wife of now-convicted felon Tony Rezko, part of which was later sold to next-door neighbor Barack Obama."

Now explain this away. Is this G W Bush's fault also? Seriously all politicians are corrupt and it sucks bad.

Yup, and the Chicago ones are the worst of the worst. Worth note: Blagojevich is the 4th of the last 7 elected Illinois governors to be indicted since 1960. Obama's political home turf. Not so surprising a junior senator from Chicago with zero accomplishments and almost no experience makes it to president now is it..

Oh, and notice the MSM have immediately jumped on to say that Obama knew nothing about this... even though links have not even been investigated yet and it is far too soon to make any such claims. Imagine if Blagojevich was a Republican governor: MSM would be all over it creating links with Bush, and probably Palin and McCain too. Sickening.

Funny I dont remember any comments on sloth when Republican Governor Ryan from Illinoi was brought up on charges and sent to jail 6 years ago.....

If only it was about the issues, and not just Republican politics.

Lol for sure

It's news that Chicago/IL politics are corrupt? Shouldn't be.

This guy is pretty funny to me, so bold and flagrant. Fun stuff.

Criticism of corrupt politicians is pointless if you don't also blame the other party. Got it...

Let's talk about Larry Craig vs Barney Frank. Craig gets caught in some homosexual antics and the Republicans want his head on a stake. Barney Frank who is openly gay gets his boyfriend appointed to Fannie Mae to develop subprime mortgage strategies. The Democrats want Frank in charge of the auto bailout. Which gimp will "xxxx his xxxx" for this position. Not only that Barney Frank was running a prostitution ring out of his apartment. He still holds his high ranking positions. Trent Lott was run out of Congress for simply complimenting an old man at his birthday party. Believe me Republicans are held to account, because the people in the party will kick you in the balls for any discretion. However in the Democrat party people tend to look the other way when their guy gets into some trouble. Take Representative "cold cash" Jefferson. The Feds found 90k dollars of bribe money in his freezer. The voters had to throw him out of office because the party won't lift a finger and he is still not in jail. Give me a break. All corrupt politicians need the axe, not just Democrat ones. Don't get your feelings hurt if this spreads to Obama. Better gag "I told you so".

Ignorant BS.

Sit down and shut up for the next 8 years. Your party nearly destroyed the country.

If the republicans were really held to account, Rove, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, and Perle would be sitting in a cell in Abu Ghraib. Bush should be forgiven, on the grounds he is mentally retarded. We could make him the national mascott.

p.s. I hope this doesn't hurt your feelings. Better gag 'stfu retard'.

What is illegal and what you perceive or wish to be illegal are two different matters. If these people you mentioned have done so much wrong then you would expect the Democrat controlled Congress to do something... The president did not force Hillary Clinton to vote for the Iraqi Occupation. G W Bush does not control nearly as much as you guys would want everyone to believe. I never exalted Bush, I have been critical of him the whole time. He is a moderate at best and has no resemblance to a conservative. Why do your feelings get hurt when one of your guys goes down? I am much less partisan than you have shown yourself to be. I live in Illinois. Blagojevich and Obama are both from Illinois. Pass the butter.

For quite some months I’ve been hearing the stories about declines in the automotive market. (Job cuts and plant closures) They were happening before the current economic crisis. It scares me when a government is going to try and salvage something that was collapsing anyways... and has been slowing down for years...

It would seem governments are trying to get people to spend... to stimulate the economy... but the cat is out of the bag... everyone’s figured out that the previous boom caused assets to become overpriced... so why in the hard times should we buy stuff that we now realize is overpriced?

I kind of get a picture of a houses foundation collapsing, but instead of fixing the crumbling foundation, they are repairing the walls and the roof when they crack with the movement. It’s only a matter of time before the foundation breaks completely and all the nails and the glue become unstuck.

I’m wondering whether the whole car thing is going to be the “dam buster” event... or will this get patched and we will all be okay until the next thing... next month. I guess Research, Development, Technology and the Military will be the next sectors to be hit... after a already protracted and expensive war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I think the balls rolling, and it’s picking up momentum... and well... the rest is for Nostradamus. It’s a shame globalization causes everyone else to get dragged down too.

Are you implying that we live in a meritocracy? Or that Bush is not as stupid as I claim?

If you're just trolling, try harder. You're losing your edge.

Edit: nice tag line btw, any bites yet?
