Here I will help you create more division.

http://www.libertypost.org/cgi-bin/read ... Num=161053

nformation compiled from the Washington Post, “Congressional Sex Scandals in History,” and other sources.

10. Sen. Daniel Inouye. The 82-year-old Hawaii Democrat was accused in the 1990s by numerous women of sexual harassment. Democrats cast doubt on the allegations and the Senate Ethics Committee dropped its investigation.

9. Former Rep. Gus Savage. The Illinois Democrat was accused of fondling a Peace Corps volunteer in 1989 while on a trip to Africa. The House Ethics Committee decided against disciplinary action in 1990.

8. Rep. Barney Frank. The outspoken Massachusetts Democrat hired a male prostitute who ran a prostitution service from Frank’s residence in the 1980s. Only two Democrats in the House of Representatives voted to censure him in 1990.

7. Former Sen. Brock Adams. The late Washington Democrat was forced to stop campaigning after numerous accusations of drugging, assault and rape, the first surfacing in 1988.

6. Former Rep. Fred Richmond. This New York Democrat was arrested in 1978 for soliciting sex from a 16-year-old. He remained in Congress and won re-election—before eventually resigning in 1982 after pleading guilty to tax evasion and drug possession.

5. Former Rep. John Young. The late Texas Democrat increased the salary of a staffer after she gave in to his sexual advances. The congressman won re-election in 1976 but lost two years later.

4. Former Rep. Wayne Hays. The late Ohio Democrat hired an unqualified secretary reportedly for sexual acts. Although he resigned from Congress, the Democratic House leadership stalled in removing him from the Administration Committee in 1976.

3. Former Rep. Gerry Studds. He was censured for sexual relationship with underage male page in 1983. Massachusetts voters returned him to office for six more terms.

2. Former Rep. Mel Reynolds. The Illinois Democrat was convicted of 12 counts of sexual assault with a 16-year-old. President Bill Clinton pardoned him before leaving office.

1. Sen. Teddy Kennedy. The liberal Massachusetts senator testified in defense of nephew accused of rape, invoking his family history to win over the jury in 1991.

One the list of Republicans doing it is alarming. And secondly Democrats dont stand up on the podium all day long preaching to you about morals, gays, and religion.

Its a good post, cause its the truth that keeps getting burried. Can you imagine the hellfire on Fox News if it was the Democrats doing such filthy stuff on a regular basis?

The main problem with this argument is that Republicans wont re-elect a child molester or felon and Democrats are happy to do it. I vote republican most of the time and it's not because I live a holier than thou life. I just don't think that my money is best spent by the govt. Anytime the government takes more of your money it is just wasted. Why do you think every single govt implemented plan is garbage. Try calling up the unemployment office, medicaid, Dept of Motor Vehicles, child support enforcement, or any other govt run agency. They don't give a damn about your problem. The common answer is wait and call back later. The govt worker risks no loss of their job due to non-performance. A privately owned business must satisfy its customers or go bankrupt. The govt risks no bankruptcy, they will just tax more of your money and waste it as they see fit. One prime example is The Dept of Education. They keep throwing more and more money at education and yet our students are some of the dumbest in the world. Praise be to the mighty teachers unions ye shall squander the finest resource of the world, a child's mind.

Vote for Ron Paul

No more govt.
No more new taxes.
No more new laws restricting our rights.
Long live the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

PS The division in this country along party lines is ridiculous. We are all American(and human before that), not Republican or Democrat. When we start to realize that the media tries to divide only then will we start to fight back. I frequent a political message board and it is mind boggling to me that most people have these ludicrous notions of other people. If you vote Republican than your obviously a war-monger, beat down the poor kinda guy. If you vote Democrat than your a baby-killer/homo. This kind of talk is bullshit.

We need to come together as people.

just a note mike, at least in recent years, the republicans are actually worse with government spending - they just spend it on different things.

Dr. Paul is indeed running as a republican for some reason, and i will be voting republican because of him, but that's because of the individual and not the party (i would have voted for him when he ran as a libertarian if i'd been old enough at the time). Don't ever think the republicans are the slightest bit less crooked than the democrats - the democrats are just more blatant sometimes, and tend to spend their ill-gotten gains on 'social programs' instead of foreign adventurism like the republicans have been wont to do in recent years, which makes it more visible to us.
Don't be stupid - we have politicians for that

If i could vote for a real 3rd party, or some sort of moderate party I would.

I think the current Batch of Republicans running the country are perverted right wingers. The 80's conservative, fiscally responsible republican is long gone, most of them voted out by the neo-cons.
Look up Arlen Spectors prelim battle for the senate a few years ago. He just about lost to some unknown nut-job. He is an excellent long serving Republican Senator for Pennsylvania. But they tried to oust him for not being far-right.

Im not trying to flame you Mike, but current Republicans are wasting your tax dollars at a nice quick pace. While they did cut taxes for the rich, they are spending the money that is left harder and harder.

Megolithic churches that rake in millions do not pay taxes. However they can now as of this year apply for federal grants that can use up the taxes you pay. And with a recent Supreme Court ruling, you as an indiviual can no longer challenge or dispute it. So you are in fact voting for the holy rollers to use your tax dollars.

Both parties are indeed flawed. They will sell us to the Chinese the first chance they get :)

Mike,

my wife is a teacher, and at no point am I driving around in a Lexus.

Most teachers end up being parents for the kids who dont get any parenting. "Other" countries say Japan for example have a much better family structure and the kids work 10 times harder then the best american student. Most kids in japan work all year, and most days they go to school till 3pm, then an evening cram school till 9pm. I couldnt fathom the backlash in america if you tried to get these kids to study like that. American kids are spoiled, abused, and dont have available parents to watch them. Mom and Dad are at work all day, and dont have time for kids, even though they have them.

Teachers around here cant afford to live in the counties they work in because the housing prices are too expensive. They have housing "lotteries" where one teacher wins a discounted price on a new condo. Yipee.

The state of Maryland has nothing along the lines of a pension for working teachers. You can teach for 50 years and have nothing to show for it.

So do some more research first before you throw teachers and teacher unions under the bus. I dont know this Dr. Paul guy, but it sounds like your spouting back what your being told without knowing what actually is going on in america when it comes to teachers.

I never threw teachers under the bus. Just the union. The union bosses absorb any raises or money that the teachers would every see. They will cite things like rising health care, rising expenses etc. I never said that teachers make a lot of money. I was simply stating that our govt wastes my money and yours. They dump millions of dollars into education, most of which is absorbed by bureaucratic jobs. I will contend that dollar for dollar private schools do a much better job at teaching than public ones. As far as your ideal that all teachers are these great parents of needy children. Wake up Broc. Lemme tell you a little tale about how much teachers care.

Chrissy has a 7 year old girl. In kindergarten there was a boy who was always hitting other children. Kaitlin told the teacher he was hitting her and the teacher called her a "tattle tale". I got mad and told her to beat the shit out of him next time. Then a few days later the same incident happens and she hit him back. So the kid went and told the teacher and Kaitlin ended up getting in trouble. She came home upset because she was in trouble. I told her next time she better really whoop his ass. Now this really sounds like a "great teacher". In fact the kid in question had been in trouble so many times that other parents had to go to the school and talk with the teacher. Regardless of that the teacher allowed Kaitlin to get bullied, and then punish her for standing up for herself.

I realize this is one teacher, but I know many more. For another matter do you have any idea how easy it is to get a teaching degree? Have you ever considered how political the system is? Instead of getting a teaching job based on your knowledge, its all about who you know.

Oh btw this teacher I am referring too. Her husband is the county treasurer. Things that make you go hmmmm.

One teacher and all are bad, i understand now.
I can tell you 20 rotten kid stories for every teacher story you can come up with.

You are however making an opinion that the money paid to teachers isnt worth it. I dont see much of a difference.

My mom is a teacher....

The money doesn't ever make it to the teachers. You can't just throw money at a problem. The whole system needs to be overhauled.

I will agree totally with everything here. Under the current administration spending has ran rampant. Up until the 1980's this was not the motto of the republican party. Reagan started it with his "space race" which was really just another word for "arms race".

In closing I don't agree with any new taxes, any new Departments, or any new lies. The US govt has swollen out of proportion and if Thomas Jefferson and George Washington were alive today they would probably start executing people.
