Nah.. I have killed the BH weapon & armor merchants a few times.. The junk-dealer hits really hard tho.

A while back Blastem tried to kill Sir Faur and was splorked...

One of the shops in SS used to pop a vest even.

Still, when the dr shops went in the imms made it very clear that we weren't allowed to kill these new store keepers. I guess they should have added it to the rules if they wanted new players to know.

It was the guild masters in ss that had the items. The cleric had yellowed cataracts which i think was 1.2 and 2 con, the thief had the criss crossed knife vest i think its .9 +1dmg, thew warrior had some dueling blades or something which was pretty gay and the mage had a sheath of shimmering samite which was some mana .5 robe no container i think maybe 25 mana. we killed them all one night when we got bored, i know mike still has his knife vest and kell had the sheath. i had cataracts once but i think i had to give em back.

I remember the first time we hit those shopkeepers. We were all just hittin 3x40...Shadis led, I tanked...Clink had just made a new potion, I quaffed the first in-game ethereal potion, and we hit those suckers...In fact, when we popped the knife vest, it didn't have stats--Wylde (or Ming) had to actually give them stats on the fly for us...good times...

this must have not been the same time. we used mobs to scare mobs with procs to get them out.
