Aiding Raven Glade

Postby Zorinom » Thu Jun 21, 2007 12:09 am

To Any Willing Adventurer:

We have been secluded for many eons now, hidden away behind the fogs of your world, self-sufficient and able to handle our own problems. Such times have come to an end by the decree of our lord, Viceroy Argenteus. He has lifted the veil and opened our arches to your world to test your character, fortitude, and abilities. It is a test to prove if you can be trusted to help us in our time of crisis. Should you accomplish two simple feats, finding the location of our small community and opening a text in my collection, you will have earned the right to be called upon in the future.

A humble servant,

Zorinom

I am planning on running an area opener on Wednesday, June 27 at 9:30 est. I am placing a little twist on the typical opener, and as such, I will not run it with less than 20 people or more than 30. At this junction in time, only 3 people that I know of have solved the necessary Autoquest to participate (refer to original post), and one of those probably cannot make the start on time. Provided you solve the AQ, email me at destiny@slothmud.org with the command line you used to solve the riddle, who you plan on questing with, class, and your preference for sides (defending or attacking). You only need to solve it with one character to allow any of your characters to join the quest. I am not promising you will get your alignment preference, but I will try my best.
Email me or catch me online with any questions.

Destiny wrote a great quest for us, with two teams competing but not allowed to interfere with each other. We began by collecting a series of items to forge a key at Loremaster Zorinom.
Chi -- 'a ****** of white fire'
Chi -- 'a ring of blue flame'
Chi -- 'a band of liquid radiance'
Chi -- 'a string of yellow tendons'
Chi -- 'a rainbow colored strap'
Chi -- 'an elemental core'
Chi -- 'black dragon's skin armor'
Chi -- 'a notebook worn by time'
Chi -- 'a luminescent gem'
Zorinom forged us an emerald dragon's eye, which we used to turn a dial and then insert into a tiara to enter Mercurial Woods.
Sheng's group beat Chi's to the Woods due to some issues with acquiring an elemental core, and were hard at work collecting their tokens of carnage. Despite their lead, Chi and his company infiltrated the castle and collected their tokens of righteousness first. The final challenge was to kill a mob selected by the other team. Chi's group chose Inocaes, thinking Sheng's group would have to get to the mob to kill it. But no, it was transferred to our area, so while Chi and company tried to kill Iblis, Sheng caught up and splorked Inocaes. Most of Chi's group was also splorked when Baraneth decided to interrupt the party and kill us all instead of them. Amazingly, this was the ONLY thing anyone could find wrong with the quest. Great job Destiny!
Once Baraneth left, Chi returned and we smashed Iblis's face in.

Ezekiel gets a glowing sliver of steel from the corpse of Iblis that's on the ground.
The hot shards of steel slice through your skin. It burns!
You have gained 30 drachma.

Tysmiha -- 'there are 4 bags... 1 for warriors, thieves, clerics, and wizards'
Tysmiha -- 'the other classes are mixed in'

This was another great idea, especially with the distribution issues at the end of the last one.

And in case it wasn't mentioned...muchthx Destiny!

Adelina Rumar in Raven Glade forges a scintillating scale for 1 million coins. If anyone successfully forges (cps unknown) please post stats and cps.

Forge note reads as follows:
Time is of the essence. Zorinom has informed me of ancient metallurgy using a dragon scale alloy to craft exquisite pieces of armor. I have implored him to continue his research after he found an archaic recipe for a magical pair of dragonscale boots. I know of your expertise in such matters and need you to find a way to meld the scales from a great purple dragon, a red scale that has been petrified, a scale from an ancient shadow dragon, a radiant yellow scale, and an orange scale covered in spikes. When combined, these specimens should form what is called a scintillating scale.

-----------------------
Apparently Zorinom is the forger for the dragonscale sabotons (-.6 AC Warrior prime 3x40)

For the record, the item (+con +10hp) can be used by a valker, and there are a couple of pure non-caster valkers, as far as I know.

However, it strucks me as weird that it is an item that a non-caster doesn't need (supposedly having 18 nat con and good hps so won't trade for -0.4/-0.8 ac).

Maybe the restricts were supposed to be OR, or something.

If anything, I'd suggest the following guards:
-0.5 +20hp 20 any non-caster
-0.6 +dex -str 1x40 any non-caster
-0.7 +str +2mv regen 2x40 any non-caster
-0.8 +10hp +2hp regen tri40 any non-caster

Cheers.
