1. Juggleblood is 200% correct - we should have some way of more specifically tracking our oath track record.
2. Related to this, there should be ways of getting lost honor back, whether by oath on big mobs, autoquests or, sigh, drachma store tokens. There should be bonuses for having unbesmirched honor.
3. There should be a bonus to being raised for having taken an oath and failed. Right now oath is most useful on mobs where you don't need disengage, recall or defy pain. The gods should look kindly on people who put their (insert slang term for fundament here) on the line, even if they fail. Say longer until corpsing out, so that there is time for the group to kill the mob and still raise the tank, or a system shock bonus.
4. Hitpoints should not decay until you take some damage or the oath is fulfulled. More than once I've taken oath of victory, had the mob whiff a round, have the oath hitpoints decay immediately (one round) and then gotten slammed the next round. Etheral rakashas at -10 do this often enough to notice it.
5. Related to the above, the defy and oath help should say that defy and oath of victory are incompatible. Would be nice to find out some other way than being at 100hps against a mob and trying to use defy....
6. Oath of protection does reduce the amount of mob spatter - as a common 2.tank, it seems to do this well. Point should not take oath of protection if allowing some down spatter will help, and should if 2.tank is crunchy - say the stabber.
7. Would be nice if oath of protection could be made before combat and help on the rescue of say, the stabber or gripper.
8. Would also be nice if oath of protection meant autorescue and auto successful rescue of the person you have sworn to protect.
Right now oath of victory is most use when there is less honor - on mobs that it is almost a sure thing to kill. A few tweaks could change that so that people will use oath on mobs where there is more risk.
