I'm wondering how many people would actually like a wipe.

My vote is YES for player wipe.

I've first entered 'yes', but here are my few thoughts. I'd like a pwipe only if Sloth4 will be something really different and new for us all, and not that it gonna happen anytime soon I guess. But I like the idea, really. New classes, new mobs, new abilities, new races or remorts? mmmm! :) Maybe in a couple years, huh?

I think a lot of us like the one or two chars we've built up, and I doubt everyone is going to like the idea of starting from scratch again.

Not to mention shrinking the player base just as Sloth is crawling back towards #1 on TMC again :)

I haven't been playing very long, but I finally got my stats together and left VK. I'd definately play another MUD if I got wiped.

yeah
it would put everyone on even footing again and ya could add the class-professions

I think this sloth is more different than sloth when it started than sloth III was from sloth II

Why does this topic come up again and again every few months? The end result is always the same - the overwhelming majority definitely do NOT want a full pwipe, and many people say they would use a pwipe as a reason to quit altogether, or at least would drastically reduce their time dedicated to SlothMUD (I'm one of the latter - most likely I'd use it as an excuse to concentrate on some other games, and once I'd got involved in those, there'd be no coming back - not that my individual presense here or lack thereof would make any difference) - all in all the final result would most likely be the death of SlothMUD.

If you are one of the few who DO want a wipe, then I'm sure Splork would be more than happy to oblige and wipe your personal character(s) for you without having to take everyone else down.

My personal vote is no. Firmly. Things are well on sloth, new things are always coming in, and ppl have spent far too much time building what the have gotten to this point.
I'm not forsaken, but I am the only one.

Ummmm Not just no but Hell Mother F%@$#^& no....that would blow...so many people dont get to play that often as it is....the only justifiable reason for taking everything someone has worked for away would be because its BETTER for the majority of the mud and or the Game in general....(which is NOT the case) Splork and the other immorts are smoking some really good stuff and coming up with EVER increasing COOL SHIT.....

Dont Punish people because they have planned long and hard for thier chars and or clans.....

The haves.....are not responsibile for the have nots...feeling of inadequecies (SP)

The Economy of the mud is JUST FINE.....and the immorts are doin an amazing job....far better than in the old days.....
LET IT BE!!!!

i agree with Weasel
unless i hear from no less than Creator - i will ignore all stuff about wipe

my characters\vaults\etc are SAFE and no shit will happens with them

We are extremely happy with Sloth. As most players are well aware, our game is as fresh as ever. We continue to add player's ideas along with our own. Matter of fact, the next few weeks we have some amazing gifts for our players both ingame and out. Don't forget the upcoming "quest of the century"!

We have no plans to pwipe. This topic does crop up every few months and we continue to say the same thing

Enjoy,
Splork

Erm, why would we want a wipe? To even the playing field?
It seems to me that the strong characters tend to be owned by strong players, who work with intelligence and patience on their characters. A wipe would even things for a while, but pretty soon those same players would build their characters back up, to end up with the same balance. Are there any other arguments in favor of a wipe?
The man was either mad or both.

Having so many avatars does cause some eq inflation.

No need for a wipe though.

Just take Youth potions out of the game and increase the penalties for age.

No. If a person wants to wipe his/her char - ask an imm and get free.

As for eq inflation - dunno, may be it is not a big deal, but personally
i do not like inftaltion.

I see few ways to reduce inftaltion:

- newcomers, who will buy your eq with pleasure ( votevotevote! )

- new powerful high-end forges requiring a lot of high-end forges. ( dont like thsi idea much tho :x )

- crafting , yeah, i would be happy if we had crafting.

we could have classic crafting that allow players ( who is mastered in art of smithing )
create nice items from hard-to-get resources ( miners, woodcutters, herbalists have to work hard to get enough resources )
and players master-mages could imbue those items with crystals of magic power

apparently we could have wild crafting, someting like
"bring 10 runed onyx bracelets to a forger and with some success chance you will get Runed Onyx Bracelet
with affects higher rather than standard item has, say 0ac 10healbonus 15sd".
"bring 10 war greaves and if you lucky enough you may get -1.8 War Greaves" :P

/falsra

Just thoughts , but i always have strange thoughts on Mondays....

not only no, but HELL no. i don't want a motherfuckingcocksuckingcuntlicking pwipe. forget it. i don't want to hear any bullshit about "even footing". we are all on even footing here...it's only as hard or as easy as anyone wants to make it. lots of us have worked for years to get where we are - bank accounts, vaults, homes, castles, eq sets, stats, clans, friends. this is a community, a home. sure, there are some who can get 5x40 in 5 months....those players know who to group with, know where the coins runs are and know where the fat ass solo exps are. know what i say to that? HELL YEAH! your knowledge and skill SHOULD be rewarded with quick levelling. me, i am an eternal n00b and it has taken me almost 5 YEARS to get firebrand where she is right now. i am HAPPY with that because i have earned every single exp she has earned. i value her BECAUSE it has taken me so damn long to get her where she is. there will NEVER be such a thing as a level playing field. that is because the players are not on a level gaming field. we don't all have the same eq, connections, or amount of time to be able to dedicate to playing. if you want a pwipe so goddamned bad, we will be glad to pwipe YOU. level your own damn playing field....keep making newbies. i will still lead groups and help your newbies get levs because that is what i enjoy doing. i think it is bullshit that the whines of the few think they can dictate the wants/needs of the many - and i will stop there before i get into political/religious crap

rebs

p.s. i wholeheartedly vote HELL NO on this
Yeah bringing you another disturbing creation from the mind of one sick animal who can't tell the difference and gets stupified.
