Fight the Good Fight!

As I was reading the crier today I responded to the smac post. Refreshed the page and noticed my signature, the same warcry that I use with Medios. I began thinking about the old motto and what it means on sloth. Heres a brief history of my clan.

I began playing sloth some time around 1996. This weirdo Bradley Hutson aka BRH worked with me in Morris library at Southern Illinois University. I was pretty hip on computers and caught him playing a text based game at work one night. I caught on pretty quick and after a few months I found out that Aaron was playing in the computer lab just across the woods from me. We became friends and played some on sloth2 and alot on sloth3.

Around 1999 Aaron started playing Asherons Call with John who was also from sloth. So after much talk I started an AC account and started on the pk server. We were in a clan "The Iron Fist", mostly players that knew john and aaron, I brought a few friends as well. We were pretty much honor players, we defend against pk attacks. Fight the Good Fight meant alot to us. If your in town trying to sell items and a couple pks run in, you have a duty to your clanmates. Survive at minimum, with victory being the goal. You cant run and let your friends be slaughtered, even if you risk dying you have to fight. We kicked out anyone who was scared to die.

On sloth we dont fight pk. Its alot more stressful, were very laid back. However Fight the Good Fight always applies. If your fighting, especially in quests and such. Lets say the first tank dies, I see people recall if they get hit. This is nonsense, dont be afraid to die. Dont be afraid to risk dying to save someone or do a cr. Generally stick in there for each other, work as a team. You have to be willing to give up your xp run to possibly raise someone else. I dont mean let players abuse you, just giving your fair share of help (overall enjoyment) to players of the mud. Most everyone is quite happy to see a friendly face in the time of need. I applaud my clan for endlessly rescuing not only our own clan members but anyone in need. This is what Dogs of War is about. We strive to be the most respected clan on sloth. We wish to be loved and also feared.

On a side note. I see alot of items load, and sometimes players cant get anyone to help load said items. If someone is on gossip asking for assistance to say, chop high priest sahaguin. Whats the big deal with taking mebbe 10min out of your time to kill something. You never know when the shoe is on the other foot.
