Pthieves - What's the story?

one thing is that i don't like is that if the thief is boarded my alignment shouldn't go from spread good and joy to tainted heart, when i kill him.

I'm not exactly pro-pthief, but I did actually sit in the inn with Derro for a while. I had a whole inventory full of eq that he couldn't steal, because I was in the inn.

He's very good with emotes. He emoted several times that he left the game and hid himself so people would think he was gone. He emotes glances and theft attempts. It's all an attempt to catch you unaware. Either to find out what you're protective of, or trick you into walking into the open. Or get you to attack him when he's not boarded. All of it's pretty useless if your inventory is clean and you bank your spare coins.

He also asked me to mort some impossible mobs for him, goat trolls and demo and such. Not long after he brought on a newbie that sat at the idol and begged for food, water and coins to rent... and to mort some impossible mobs for him.

Nobody. We get ourselves killed by our trustworthy friend the Sash Lieutenant, quit!, get back in before the corpse gets looted, take everything (this normally works nowadays, surprisingly - since most of the people on this MUD can't hunt pthieves if their lives depended on it), and get out of the MUD for 15 seconds and just as we do, someone new with a nice inventory comes in.

I'll try to remember that. I thought they were painful splork types. I didnt' think my tank would fare well against them.

First of all, this was meant to be a joke. I never asked for morts from anyone and if I did, I was joking. Second of all, goat faced trolls aren't impossible mobs. Third, your response to my request was something similar to "I would if I could kill them. Splork mobs aren't exactly my thing". Sounds like a lot like assistance of known pthief, pkillable offense

This wasn't me. Besides, what would this trick accomplish? This guy (Kurmysh was the name as far as i remember) asked me for coins and I would've helped but I was in SS at the time. He never asked me to mort mobs for him.

Whatever you're trying to do/paint me as, 12345, it's borderline idiocy.

Not a bad memory, but you are off by a word. 'Wonder' and 'would' are two fairly different things. My tank isn't exactly a quick kill kinda guy, goat trolls would be painful. And you did ask me to mort demo for you, which is a pretty tough solo.

The newbie wasn't you? Ok. You're still very good with emotes. You hop continents quite a bit, and have a decent sense of humor... if a bit carnal.

Basically, you're good enough with emotes that it's difficult to tell if you've left the room, stayed, rented, glanced, stolen or any of a variety of things without looking directly at you. I don't think you've found a cure for carrying everything in a robe yet though, save for the quick snatch while changing gear outside a safe room.

Either way... it was fun watching you drooling.
