Guild wars is alright and I reckon it will be fun. The no subscription fees is indeed a bonus. Anyhow you will be quick to find annoying and rude kids on there within your first hour[/quote:su124kzz]
Yeah unfortunately that seems to happen everywhere.. little buggers. I'll just have to pkill them I guess.
If Crysis gives you motion sickness, you should not even look at Mirrors Edge.[/quote:su124kzz]
I looked at the trailer for Mirrors Edge, and first thing I thought was that I'd be talking to the seals in no time, LOL...
P.S. Nice Rig! EVGA makes very decent cards! What kind of mobo you powering this beast with? Prolly an ASUS I reckon.[/quote:su124kzz]
Nope, not an ASUS. Mobo is EVGA X58 3xSLI (although I only have a single GTX 285 SSC in there..[i:su124kzz] so far[/i:su124kzz] ). Latest BIOS seems pretty good.
Using a CoolerMaster V8 CPU cooler and the CoolerMaster Storm Sniper SGC case (need it to fit the V8 in!).
Corsair 850TX PSU
RAM is 3 x 2GB OCZ platinums (rated 1600MHz 7-7-7-24) with one of those Corsair RAM fans mounted over them.
300GB Velociraptor (boots from it), and additional 640GB Caviar Black HD for data and some of the games.
Ran just shy of P16000 on 3DMarkVantage performance full test, which is sweet for a single graphics card setup.
Oh, X-Fi XtremeGamer sound card.
Replacing the internal V8 stock 70CFM fan as it seems to rattle a bit at high RPM.. the replacement I'm dropping in pushes about 110CFM, so that should drop the CPU temp quite a bit too.. maybe clock it up to 4.0GHz? Could do that now, but want to keep it relatively 'safe'. Adding a couple of high CFM case fans too - will end up with a 200mm 140CFM and a 120mm 96CFM intake fans, and the same again for exhaust... will be a regular wind tunnel going through my case heh..
It leaves my old PC for dead.. a Dell Dimension 4600 (Pentium4, 2.66GHz) with 3GB RAM and a Radeon 512MB Xtasy X1300, which actually did a pretty decent job for what it was, but it couldn't cope with many of the newer games coming out... or it at least tried, but badly. Given it to my g/f's mother, as it's way more than adequate for her needs.
