what we need is a pk continent, not more newbie shit
sloth doesnt have any problem getting new players
you have to add something for the big guys instead I think

I think its the opposite there AA. The older players are addicts, and will
always mud :P (Cocaine is a hell of a drug)
The new players may come and go. :)

how is 'god mode' not boring? I mean, I guess maybe some people like that but when I'm bored, I'd rather have a challenge.

I agree that a PK continent (with some kind of warning before you step off the boat where you have to confirm that you know it's PK. that or make it gatable from lyme only maybe? I think it would have to be nosteal still (as in no corpse looting because who wants to lose years of equipment just to have fun?)

Well yes, some players would enjoy a full pkill continent I'm sure.. but do the coders want to build and maintain an entire continent for, what, 3 maybe 4 people to use? If your true motive for wanting this pkill continent is not just about stealing eq as I suspect it is, then there are arenas already available - why are you not using them if it's just the challenge of pkilling you're into, as some of you claim? hmm?

I bet that it'd be alot more than 3 or 4 people, especially if you put some tasty eq there - high risk, high gain.
A full PK continent would be very cool for all kinds of reasons - perhaps even limit group size on the continent (or disable it entirely) to keep people on their toes and do something about all the group bots.
Arenas are fun and all but it's not the same. perhaps pk-cont temp eq as well? now that'd be fun!

Arena's are fun. With that being said a pkill cont. would be much more fun: one reason is, it would be a larger area. Second reason is, it would allow more people and different room procs, mobs, mob procs, etc etc. It's much more fun, imo, to have to worry about more than one opponent including large mobs that will eat you by themselves along with their procs if your not careful. Now the temp eq would be a badass idea without plooting which is illigal anyhow iirc. Sounds fun, looking forward to seeing if this happens :twisted:

On further reflection, I guess if such a continent went ahead it would be my choice to visit there, and what others choose to do is up to them, so in that light perhaps I should refrain from the negative comments - as long as I have a choice then I really shouldn't have an issue with it huh.

And no 13, I wasn't kidding - surely the fact that one of the loudest advocates of this idea was a known and very active pthief should give you a clue.. but perhaps not.

Living in fear of specific players in this game, defeats the purpose of playing it. So bothering to build a player kill continent which would serve maybe 3-4 people is a waste of time.

Given the lack of opportunities for pvp to occur on this mud, it's all too easy to underestimate the number of people who would enjoy the opportunity to partake in it.

We really do need a pvp cont :)

Edit:Obviously Roadrunr's right when he says that plooting would have to retain it's usual status, some capacity for loss (non eq-wise) would of course be a benefit, just not quite to that extent.

be corpse-looting (which is illegal) ? I'm sure Weasel I fail to see your good
logic in this one buddy. The fact that there are 3 or 4 players to be afraid of would be a GREAT reason to learn how to play the mud a little better in my
opinion. Or, you know, just give up because it's too tough for you I suppose.
Or you could also just choose to not go. How about some constructive input
instead of conjecture next time brother?

Read my last comment again, you're repeating what I just said regarding negative opinion. If pthieving were turned off, then yes, I would view this differently, although I am still of the opinion that once the initial novelty was over, it would become a ghost town. If you have to put seriously good eq there to attract players, then people are going for the eq, not the pkilling, thereby validating my opinion.
