[quote="Avatar":1vaq4pij]It's dangerous to generalize some attributes to a large set of people. There's only a part of the refugees who abused the FEMA awards. There are also some portion of the refugees who are already back trying to rebuild their communities. Maybe we should judge everyone affected by Katrina as if they are a member of that second group, instead of the first? It makes just as much sense - which would be very little. In the end, you're insulting a lot of people who don't deserve your scorn.

agreed....it is bad to generalize. sometimes it is hard NOT to, but when i (and several other ppl i know irl) have been denied jobs and been disallowed to even fill out an app to try to get an apartment because i did not have a frikkin FEMA voucher, because i actually WANT to WORK for my money instead of having the taxpayers pay for it, it tends to be a kick in the teeth. when i see people come into the store where i work wearing gold chains, brand new designer clothes, gucci purses and pay for their groceries with a fukking food stamps card it tends to chap my ass a bit. when it gets thrown in my face every single day that the money and taxes i work hard for goes to someone who WON'T work, who continues to get pregnant and squeeze out kid after kid just to keep getting more and more welfare.....well, it tends to make me just a wee bit bitter! not only that, but they live in an apartment and pay only $8 a month rent (not an exaggeration) while i cannot afford to pay full price because i choose to work for a living. mumblegrumble *stalks off to smoke another bowl*
"hey, honey, our baby's here... he looks just like your boss." who father --> how the grinch stole christmas
Yeah bringing you another disturbing creation from the mind of one sick animal who can't tell the difference and gets stupified.
