Sad but true. Like Van said, you shouldn't confuse our Nation with a temporary 'elected' official.

I don't get the point, Eireannach. Are you saying you do understand the US goals in Iraq or that you don't?

If you do, please share. Noone in our government has been able to explain it to us.

Juggleblood (I forgot the char name) raises some good points. I think he understands the situation more clearly than many of us give him credit for.

Comprehension does not always require experience, but it does help. I can't say I fully understand what you brave men and women are going through, but I wish you best of luck in your endevours. Let me say this though if this campain (war) was about removing a corrupt leader and stopping genocide why have we done nothing in respect to Dafur. Keep up the good fight men and women and Ill personally buy you each a beer when you return. Just let me know when and where.

I've served my time in the 3/187th Rakkasans Infantry, went to schools, served my country and then ets'd.

I'm English so I have no views at all on US or world polotics ...

Just a thought thought though:

... do you need to support the aims / outcomes / the administration that made a decision to go to war in order to support the troops fighting in it that are in the main doing what they believe to be the right thing to do? (well either that or they joined the army for the good pay and excellent medical care package ... )

No, I firmly believe the best way to support the troops is to not needlessly throw them into harm's way. There are a lot of Special Ops groups in the US Military and I think they should be put to better use. Why send 150,000 (guessing) regular troops in when 50 well-coordinated highly-trained guys who *DID* sign up to fight uphill battles could do nearly the same thing? I still think this war is shit, but if you have to do it, there are better ways imo.

SF has better chow halls but..
