Monk Changes

Well sorry for the flame. I guess I was just a little upset that I had just gotten enough hand dam to splork a pronghorn or nymph follower, and the very next day that ability was taken away from me (-6hand dam). Had Aura of Pride and Gauntlets of Thunder and bunch of other little pieces. I guess that the game can still be enjoyable, but I sure do need a break. This is a very hard blow to me. I had more interest in my monk than my necro to be honest. I was focusing all on the monk, ask any of my friends. I find necromancer a bit boring to pay and not all that powerful as everyone seems to think. They were definitely overpowered when you could have 3 vilewights at 4 attacks each totalling 12 attacks per round. I agree to this. But now that has been cut in half to 2 vilewights at 3 attacks each. And I am not complaining about necromancer. I was dealign with it. Just this monk blow affects my interest quite a bit atm, cause I did have expectations for 5x40. Planned out my hand dam gear set fully etc. But if it is all for the best, then so be it. I have no idea what the dam cap will be for a quad monk but it takes 20 dam for a monk to splork a pronghorn; btw a mage can kill a pronghorn in one blast I was told.

Anyways, peace out for now. I might return after I have gotten over this and my toothache (had a tooth pulled the day before last).

I always thought that thieves were underhanded and lowdown. They get all the damage on stab and have to pay mvs to circlestab. Monks are peace loving, they dont want to assassinate stuff. They get a multitude of damage from grip,strike, counterattack. Strike does not cost moves and hits pretty damn hard for a "freebie". Not only that monks get presage which allows someone to miss , be hated and easily slip back in for another try. Umm oh yeh what about damage reduction, I guess thieves get something like that too. Honestly the only person that is allowed to complain here is Nab. I havent heard a bad word come out of Keiths mouth since this happened. Yeh im sure hes not happy about it, but he understood along time ago that these items were way too powerful. Hell when I saw the shield of south ice in the shop I got pretty upset myself. A damage shield...

As far as Melanthe is concerned Ill just say this. Melanthe you were a pain in the ass when you played Auriana. You said a bunch of crap about me and I didnt forget it. If Chi lets you back in our vault im gonna pk both of you.

Well I thought I aplogized, explained why I was upset, and was moving on in the reply prior to your nasty reply about me. And yes, you have said some very cruel things to me in the past. I just wanted to say thanks to those of you who took the time to speak with me online and those of you that have supported(although maybe disliked) the last couple of nerfs to Necromancers and Monks. For the most part our playerbase is very helpful and well spoken. Overall, I think the changes have been received better than most. Most likely because the mistakes we made with necromancers and this eq was rather obvious. Hopefully we will do better in the future...

These eq changes will allow us to add new eq to older areas where otherwise we were unable to because of items such as the aura and pride, as well as bring about a little more balance and fun for everyone.

I'd also like to thank Nab and a few of the other more knowledgeable Monks for helping me make an educated decision regarding these recent changes.

The final caps have not been decided on. I am still going over a huge list of handdam eq. Once that is done, I will have a better understanding of the numbers needed so that it will leave room for us to add new stuff.

Actually, if you go back and read the last thread you were whining in that I actually bother to post in, you would see that I started by refuting the points you had made. Had you bothered to make any statements that you could back up, I might not have commented. I am still patiently waiting for that 3x40 cleric in a week. 3.12b in a week works out to 18.68m/hr if you play all 168 hours in the week. Better get started. Less time on the crier, more time in your cleric.


Oh, and I could give a rats ass who you think you are (ooo top 20 player oh no, I better not insult you ever again).
