Oh yeah...those tax breaks keep creeping further down..first if you made under 300k you were ok.. then 250k...then 200k...now its around 125k....

It's one thing not to believe a thing you read and only half what you hear but when the person himself tells you directly what he is going to do and you the follower shrug it off and say..nah he won't do that to me...well who is the retarded one now?

My dad and I own a construction company in Indpls. I do tons of plumbing, roofing, carpentry, electrical, etc. The reason we don't hire anyone is 2 reasons: the labor pool is terrible (alcoholics and crackheads), and we can't afford accident liability on them because the health care system is so messed up. If we could grow our business to where I was making 250k a year I don't think the tax issue would sink us. I can't imagine its much different for that fool on tv. Taxes aren't causing this recession/depression and eliminating Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy shouldn't even be the issue of the day. It should be a given that we can't afford those tax cuts when we've just doubled or tripled the national debt bailing out corrupt/incompetent bankers and stock brokers and waging a fools errand in Iraq. If the wealthy aren't going to pay for it, who is? me? You'll have to rip the money out of my ex-wife's cold fingers. I just don't understand how the reality on planet Weasel is any different.

I agree that the health insurance situation is insane, and am well aware that someone in your position in particular has a big issue with employing, because even hiring independent contractors that would normally be responsible for their own tax and health liabilities, construction is one of the few places where you can still be held liable for him injuring himself (despite usual agency laws) because construction sites are considered hazardous conditions. Strangely enough I am covering some of this very thing in an advanced business law course at university right now.

However, Obama is still a socialist, by his own admission. I can't understand why you are denying that, or why you would be attacking some guy on the street for asking a question that led to Obama admitting his socialist leaning. Who asked is irrelevant, Obama's answer is the issue.

Civilian Security Forces. That combined with Biden warning of a major international crisis within the first couple of months of Obama's rule, and that they're going to do 'something' that Americans are not going to like (hence the need for the security forces).. I find this all very troubling. Furthermore, this same sentiment is being hinted at by other prominent politicians, including Colin Powell, Madeline Albright, Australian PM Kevin Rudd, and predictions of impending doom are even coming from England and France.

Just what are they preparing us for?

if mccain knew osama's location in pakistan i doubt he would hesitate to send some cruise missiles his way. If I remember correctly we sent 40 of em when we thought we knew where saddam was. I think most American's would support such a decision.
