I just can't believe that most of you guys won't admit that almost all politicians are corrupted in some form. I know you think I "tow the line" for the Republican party, but honestly I am one of the only people who criticizes all parties involved. BTW I have never voted for John McCain...

Call me naive, but I really think Obama is the real deal, out for the greater good that is. I also think he's intelligent and wise.

I've never thought you towed the Republican line per se, but back when liberal bashing was in vogue I seem to remember you jumping on that bandwagon. Also, your claim that the Republican party holds a higher standard of accountability is debatable to say the least. And telling us all 'I told you so.' before Obama even takes office, isn't just cynical, it's egotistical.

Did you vote for Bush btw? Just curious.
Talk to the clown.

Both parties have issues, no doubt about that. I registered Independent years ago.

Mike I only ever see you rail on Obama and Democrats. If it were about the issues that would be a good thing. There have been lots of issues from the right-side (Republicans), especially the last 8 years, and I never see you post about them.

Obama looks to do some good things, if it turns out not to be that, the country can elect a new president in 4 years.

I will admit that I voted for G W. I was seemingly convinced that Republicans stood for smaller government and less taxes. Well GW came through on the taxes and I got a nice rebate check that year. We made about 50k and I think we got $600 tax refund. Now I am sure that people that make more money got an even bigger refund but that is the thing. They paid in more than me and when your based on a % that is how it works.

However GW expanded govt. more than anyone that I know of since FDR. I am not ashamed of Bush for the Iraq war or for his tax strategy. I am ashamed of the way he has given future generations of executives the ability to steadily strip away our rights.

Examples

Medicare prescription drug plan (big drug company subsidy)
See for 7 years a company can charge whatever the hell they want for a drug. After that anyone can make the drug and sell it at cost. This is why now your seeing Walmart and drug stores selling $4 generics. This allows big companys to recoup R&D costs on the taxpayers backs. So do taxpayers need to be funding new drug human experimentation? I say no.

Dept of Homeland Security(another Dept are you serious?)
This adds increasingly to the role of the federal govt in your life. Is your last name Muhammad? You might need to be on this list... Did you buy fertilizer last spring? We're watching you too. Oh sorry your 3 yr old has his name on our list, you won't be leaving the country. Not to mention if your suspected of anything now they can basically hold you for as long as they want. Hopefully this will get busted up but look at the precedence. With the current "financial crisis" aka people spending credit they don't have and banks calling the loans we will only see much more fed interference into banking, real estate, unions etc.

Bailouts(bank/fed reserve subsidies)
Now let me get this right. In general terms your taking about $2300 from every person in the United States and giving it to Citi, and Banc of America? Saudi prince owns a buttload of Citi?

The president has given the Treasury Secretary a way to print as much money as he wants and give it to his buddies. According to Wiki Henry Paulson was once the CEO of Goldman Sachs. Lets see if they got any money...

http://www.thetrumpet.com/index.php?q=5625.3949.0.0

"According to the report, both Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are scheduled to pay out bonuses of $6.85 billion and $6.44 billion respectively....Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are each receiving $10 billion from the government as part of the effort to help prop up the financial system."

Well well well. And to boot Paulson has immunity from any lawsuit or prosecution, well played sir.

Now what does inflationary spending do? Well it inflates the currency, which lowers its value in the market, which.... raises prices. This is a hidden tax that the government likes to throw in there. Mainly lower income people are effected due to fixed income levels and necessities of life. For a long time I believed that only Democrats wanted to spend more money than we make through wars and bailouts. I guess the joke is on me. Both parties are involved in pork barrel projects for their districts and really there isn't enough money to go around. Politicians are judged on how much money they can bring to their people not on how they help everyone equally. Its a big money game in Washington and they don't care what a dollar will buy because they can vote themselves a raise.

Believe me I am not happy with either party. Regardless we still head into a one world govt with no fences and international laws.
