house of Futility....why?

I dont have a problem w/ having this , but its just not right for it to be like this. on a reading it says upcomming for 600 minutes.. not that its in affect its at 299 minutes for the last hour or so. If we have to have this conjunction can we tame it down some or make it so it doesnt last for 10 hours straight? I am weak and I know it ,but when mobs I easily solo become 3 runs for me its just not worth playing serious at that time.

Just my thoughts.

We did cut the effects in half.

I'll think about what we can do otherwise. It's not really possible to just tune one conjunction; the conjunctions are generated by an actual model of a solar system. It may be that if I scoot the outer planets in a bit, that will get rid of the really huge ones.

Was there a change in the game that mades mobs harder at certain times
of the day???

I know on Oct 31st, all undead mobs are hyper aggro...

Yes, during a conjunction in the house of futility all mobs are harder. These tend to be rare, and brief, except... that in the last week there have been a succession of several really really long ones. You can spot these conjunctions by typing "reading" after you have learned the astrology skill.

Unfortunately, this is true. The effects were lowered, which is good but this is still a nasty house. It's one of very few negative houses, so it's livable.

Shocked 2x killing mobs that I would normally consider pretty easy. Any chance we could get a 100% raise rate during this time? or something that doesn't make this an ideal time to catch up on my sleep?

Also, astrology seems to have difference limits for measuring before and during a conjunction. I'm not sure why it would be able to tell that you have a 600 minute conjunction before it happens, and then it gets stuck at a max of 299 during the conjunction. Either way, 10 hours during prime grouping time is rough.

The limit difference is fixed incor; as long as none of them last more than 1000 minutes, anyway.

So usually there would not be such a frequent occurance of conjunctions in the house of futility compared to all the other houses, along with the much longer durations in that futility conjunction - it's just that the planets in the sloth universe happened to have a particularly unfortunate alignment over the last few days, right?

That is correct. The conjunctions should be equally distributed between the houses, when you look at a long timespan. Over a few days, however, you seem to get a lot of conjunctions in a certain set of houses (or no conjunctions at all).

this is not a knock on the admin/coders, but what was the inspiration for such an implementation? I think it's kinda cool to have a dynamic mud that varies from time to time, but i just can't imagine how you guys came up with this
