Theres plenty of players here that similarly wont react well to antisocial behaviour particularly when directed at new players and will actively defend them from such attacks. This is a social cooperative mud, players who gain a reputation for anitsocial behaviour will ultimately find it works against them. If whats happening is extreme then pageing the gods (admin team) using the page command works well.

I would also be interested in seeing logs or even further details of what exactly Jabba was doing ... it would be harsh to villify a character based on so little detail / evidence,

Besides the fact I already dislike you, I allowed you to join my group.

1: You ask for summon, we give to you, we stand around waiting for you to enter. whatever, I moved on and in about 2 minutes you was wandering around the area trying to find me (more wasted time because I had to go after your ass to follow me)

2: You were trying to tell me how to lead, and basically getting on my nerves. I think I know how to play this game... I told you to stfu

3: Again, I had to tell you to stfu. Don't be a backseat leader, especially since you're new to sloth. Note, telling you to stfu is nothing for me, I was in the marine corp. you want me to go off on you, and I'll give you a taste of what it's really like to be berrated. Then you followed self, so I recalled you. I was going to ban you from groups, but then you continue to talk on gossip being extremely annoying

4: Well hell, giving us a play by play.. again.. of HOW you're quitting. You really need to learn some people skills, because you are just plain annoying. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, it's not the people who are being overly mean, you're just being overly annoying and anywhere you go, you're going to get the same response.

I too found Taki annoying, but I also found some of the behaviour towards him abhorrant.

Taki was new to sloth and despite his contradictory claims of being 33 yrs old / majoring at college / living with his mum who's an English major etc. I believe him to be a young and inexperienced player.

I know that XXX was being deliberatel obnoxious towards him, and went way way over the top in doing so to the point where it was bullying. (I've been sent log copies if imms are interested). I also understand that Taki believes others were joining in and following XXX's lead.

I've no idea whether Taki has quit or not ... he says he has (again) ... no way for me to know.

I find it a huge shame that he was annoying enough that he didnt get to meet and make friends with the vast majority of players here who are good to know and good to be around, I'd hope that given time to get used to the etiquette of sloth he would calm down relax and be able to fit in and enjoy himself. Unfortunately the combination of his lack of social skills and his clear arrogance with the bullying and hounding he was on the recieving end of appears didnt work out.

Not the best chapter in Sloths history, but not sure what most of us could have done differently.

As a suggestion Taki could try making a new start with a new char, keeping his mouth in check a little and seeing if it could work out better 2nd time round.

Right, and bring back starman cuz everyone liked him too. Unless Tak was starman, which we've all wondered.

obviously takimitsu fails to reflect that when he first started out I helped him quite a bit, when he was constantly dying, and when he lost his eq due to death, i helped and tried to help get his stuff back, and gave him about 200k coins to tide him by.

when he started getting on everyone's nerves I politely told him many times to cut down on spamming the gossip channel with silly stuff, and that we did not need to know every single thing he did on the mud.

as for other's taking my lead in treating him poorly, you give me too much credit. he got on other ppl's nerves way before he got on mine, since I hadn't been on all that much. and when i'm on i'm usually afk most of the time.

i don't see how I've been "bullying" him since I've never seeked him out and disrupted his game playing. When you flood my screen with 100lines per minute of nonsense on gossip channel, I'm going to tell you to STFU. As have many other players told him the same.

I've helped out many new players who came on recently, even if they quit halfway. Donated eq, gold, time to them, advised them on where/what to level and kill, where to find eq etc, how to use thier skills/spells.

Fact is, if you're not serious about playing the game or even learning to play the game, but just intent on logging on and behaving like a jackass (eg. Starman) people are going to treat you as one.

Even non-new players have been told to stfu if they spam the gossip channel with nonsense...good examples are yasix and polk when they were on a drunken rampage on gossip. When brad decides to sing nonstop on gossip ppl tell him to stfu too :P

I guess what I'm saying is that if I had the choice between playing sloth with a socially inept annoying newbie and a more experienced player who when they feel justified sees nothing wrong with overtly bullying and hounding a newbie til they leave I'll take the newbie every time ... from some of your responses I guess you dont all agree.

T

From the logs I've seen I guess gimlet dosent see anything wrong with setting the following trigger and going afk:
#TR {^Takimitsu ({auctions--|gossips--|newbies--|tells you|says}) '(*)'$} {tell takimitsu faggot}
I'd disagree with him.
