Ezekiel's post really hit home with me and caused me to do some major thinking.
Perception:
After speaking to many of the players online, it has become quite apparent many of our players feel they are being constantly watched and aspects of the game have been being changed because of this. That we are trying to slow down leveling.
Reality:
We reduced just about everything before we restarted SlothMUD. I am not going to lie, we did this so that we could give BACK to the game and look like saints to our players. We have learned it better to give back then to take away. I am extremely worried there is not enough exp for the higher level characters and I have expressed this continually with Immortals and players such as Anrok, Serega, and others.
Fact:
We missed a ton of stuff and we find it by checking player stats or by FELLOW players reporting stuff they do not think is right(such as the Imp and the cloud giant proc hurting mobs). Once in a great while I will check on the groups or the soloers but this is extremely rare. The only changes we have made in this version of sloth are to 1) Imp( we all agree this was rediculous) 2) lowered the coins in an area that was giving out close to 35 mil plus per week solo 3) adjusted a few of the quest mobs while adding back 5 new autoquests to help lessen the feel of them
I'm really sorry that you guys feel this way and I know I have been the cause of this in the past(sloth3). I have made great strides to change the way I have acted both online and in my personal conversations with you guys via emails, chats, etc. I have gone through great lengths to do spellbook give aways, turn on extras everyday, and do godrains, restores, etc in an attempt to change that public image that was created from Sloth3 and before. I routinely post mud updates and ask for suggestions on how to make the mud better, then I use many of these suggestions and add them in game.
Talk to me online, express your concerns with me via tells and emails. I have gotten to know a ton of the players this way and the results are usually satisfactory for all involved. We meet in the middle now, we listen to both sides, and we try to come to a mutual agreement.
This mud, this version of the mud, has not been ruled by an iron fist but instead by all of us. I really hope you guys can see that because it is true.

We have been making some great strides lately. Our game has been up for almost 9 straight days. Our advertising has been working and we are seeing many new players to sloth. We are working on an enormous project behind the scenes and making some incredible gains in it. Lets work together and keep this mud going.
