There is a huge upside to this. The administration is spending so much time on this that they are unable to enact other stupid and damaging policies to our economy.

Oh wait, price controls are coming!

Edit:

Sorry, but the US Justice System, for some strange reason, fails to acknowledge your declaration. Legally AIG is still an operating concern.

[i:3vs9uebx]Legally[/i:3vs9uebx] is the key word there, not [i:3vs9uebx]officially[/i:3vs9uebx].

Nice try though. Wish it was that easy, then we could all just get on with it.
How about declaring the US government morally and ethically bankrupt?

It's worse than that. I'm furious.

I don't get so riled up when the gov occasionally robs a lil from the middle class to give to the poor as they are sometimes inclined to do.

But to give these truly vast sums of taxpayer money to corporate criminals.

It's time for a tax revolt.

edit: not to mention the fact that the government and the president himself are pretending they didn't know about bonuses when the bailout was made. This is a plain lie, and so is the morale outrage they are playing to the camera.
Talk to the clown.

Heard several interesting talking points on the radio today that some have already pointed out. Specifically,

1. Yes, this was a known fact that the commissions were going to be paid and voted for by all the democrats. they can spin this all they want, but when you vote on a bill that has over 1000 pages in it and don't even take the necessary time to debate NOR read it..expect shit to happen.

2. The reason for the hush-hush of course is the kickbacks Osama and others were getting towards "campaign contributions" . Now that the smoke is settling, panic is beginning to set in and the pointing of fingers begin.

3. Although not a popular side to take, I think they should be allowed to keep
the money. If they decide to return a portion or all, then that is their choice, however, giving that the Guv-ment can come in a re-negotiate a contract as it sees fit will only allow it to do so again in the future. Consider the possibilities of Osama and his cronies taking that much power to start re-writing laws as they see fit.. I think a revolution would loom even closer.

On a side note- I'm looking into how Missouri is giving out fliers to its local law enforcement giving details of what a "domestic terrorist" is and to take extreme caution when dealing with "suspected terrorist"..the suspects....those with Ron Paul For President bumper stickers.

Can you say FEMA camps?

When they put me in Gitmo for openly supporting Ron Paul I wonder if they will let me have a Koran.

Good times ahead.

"Department of Defense Directive

DoD Civilian Expeditionary Workforce

Reissues DoD Directive (DoDD) 1404.10 (Reference (a)) under a new title to establish the
policy through which an appropriately sized subset of the DoD civilian workforce is preidentified
to be organized, trained, and equipped in a manner that facilitates the use of their
capabilities for operational requirements. These requirements are typically away from the
normal work locations of DoD civilians, or in situations where other civilians may be evacuated
to assist military forces where the use of DoD civilians is appropriate. These employees shall be
collectively known as the DoD Civilian Expeditionary Workforce."
