Some Questions about Being a Bard

Postby SirRobin » Wed Jun 15, 2005 2:44 pm

1) Do a Bard’s songs work for pets/followers? If so, wouldn’t a Bard Necro be fairly powerful?

2) Do a Bard’s songs continue working if a Bard/Druid shapeshifts into an animal form?

3) Does a Bard Secondary get any benefits?

4) I haven’t seen a lot of Bards around. Is it only because they are not (or not seen as) a solo class?

1. Bard's songs work for followers. Bard Necros has a good chopping power... lets count: at 4x40 20 I can summon 3 undeads - 2 wilewights and 1 banshee... these are 11 attacks... if they all do not miss and if I sing gods of war, then we'll produce 110 Damage... nd it costs 35 mana to start singing + 35 mana for every tick... BUT if you cast any spell (acid blind, heal self, web etc.) you will stop singing and have to resing again (that's 35 mana)... conclusion: bards + undeads are good for fat chop-style mobs.

2. Bard's songs continue working for some time after bard stops singing... I think you will spend this time for shifting into animal :)

3. Secondary bard gets DEX as the 2nd rolling stat, good apportunity of making good AC mode, th second high CAP for charisma.

4. Bards were planned as a group oriented class, they get solo power when raise levels for other classes :) not many bards? Let me count:
Taliesin, Pendalf, Minstrel, Sapient, Leadbelly, Solstice, Elseh, Requiem... and they all are playing now :)

More Bard Questions

Postby *juggleblood* » Tue Sep 05, 2006 2:59 pm

I also have a couple questions about playing bard.

1. How do I read the song bonus thingie on the eq chart?
i.e. 40/20/10 on an instrument

2. Does charisma influence the effect of Dance of the 7 Luck Gods? If so, by a lot or a little?

Thx

If you ID an instrument, you'll see the order of the benefits, but I believe it's:
% increase in length of song
% decrease in song cost
# of additional listeners

I think luck gods is purely level based, but I might be wrong.
