Why is it that I offer a beer and ppl want a keg.

2 Drachm + rune it's my final offer in trade for five T1 gems only because I have to write this ridiculous message.

Frankly I am tired off bending rules and getting nothing but disdain.

I don't have any disdain for you, Breeze, I appreciate a chance to turn t1 gems into something useful.

However, I'm puzzled how
5 gems = 5 gems, but
5 gems -> t1 rune = 3 gems.

I'd rather trade a rune for 3 gems, than spend drachma, thanks.

If it takes lots of effort for you to create rune-specific quests, send me the code for 1 quest and I'll copy/paste the rune names/keywords there (or include a list of all rune keynums, if needed).

I think its fair on the 1 rune > 3 t1 gems trade thing as you won't get 100% of the value back for the item you sell to an npc anyway. Adding drachma to the trade would make drachma more valuable and perhaps make rebirth more attractive? I see this as another feature you can add to the mud, adding more valuable trade/exchange/maybe unsocket rune (:P) at a cost of some reasonable amount of drachma.

PS: thanks for the gem trade. I am addicted to this gem gambling thing!

I think it's really simple, no player will ever make a useless rune again, they will just keep the 5 loose gems.

Once bitten, twice shy.

No blaming. My terms are my terms and no one is obligated to trade runes in

Thanks Breeze, 385 gems and about +50 runes traded today by my count (by everyone). I am surprised how many "useless" gems all the players had stashed away. It exceeded my own estimates. It would be interesting to know how much these gems account for "All gems in the game." My guess would be in the 50-70% range at least if we only take active players into account. I suspect more than 3000-5000 gems have been traded so far. But it wasn't just about the gems, the randomness of the trading is pretty damn fun as well. Watching what other people get is just as fun for everyone as trading your own random gems. I mean Zuzu came along just to watch for example... It's more fun than a grenade group.

Thanks for all the chances to trade in gems, Breeze. I think whatever you decide for trade-in will suffice and I'm glad we even get an opportunity to trade them in. I've heard this from many others also. Take the aforementioned 'suggestions' with a grain of salt. It's easy to see all that as disdain when that's all that's being posted... since those that are more than satisfied with current trade situation are not posting because...well, they ARE satsified and also too lazy to post. :P I'm usually in that camp, so figured I'd drop in for two cents. Thanks again for the effort.

Gorka, I've traded ~80 gems in the first day, 45 yesterday. I haven't seen more, than 5-7 ppl there, so I'd figure it's close to 500-700 gems in the first day. So your number of 5000 for 3 days is off. It's in the ballpark of 1200-1500 gems, including those from runes.

Now, I'm considering to trade in "useless" t2 runes/gems that no one wants to trade. However, knowing it's extra work, I'm not holding my breath.

I will probably make a gem similar to a capricite that loads up 3 random gems.

Trading runes is just a pain to do.

No eta. Probably a week or two.

@zeke thanks. Np. Just annoying that it seems when I try to do something nice I just get complaints.
