The New Changes To Druid

Postby jezer » Tue Sep 02, 2008 7:04 am

Judge has been working hard on fixing some of the druid problems it seems. I have both good and bad news to report... Please update this thread as you find stuff...

Mythic forms at least have more hitpoints.

Mythic forms have more damage... +4 on my phoenix.

You can prac when your shifted.

I lost 3 mana regen points standing in the changes. Judge said there was a bug in the old save command that cause points to stack.

I got aggroed as a ferret killing the kalamari. I think this is a bug and it's being looked at. Another 90m xp lost on bugs.

The biggest change however, is that returning back to human form when I was shifted phoenix, does not return me near full human health. This has always been the case since I made tarantula form and it's going to be hard for me to get used too.

When I report shifted, it does not report the hp's of my human form so I am guessing that eudaemons will now heal shifted players.

I'm told a lot of bugs quaffing potions while shifted etc are also fixed.

So all in all, it's a mixed bag for players so far. A lot of bugs have been fixed that were annoying, but also the ones that made it easier for us.

The new hp's and dam is awesome, but the having to heal after unshifting is definately going to cut the solo xp run.

Before the changes when you used to sacrifice for a supplicant and then shift the supplicant would never come and the God would be displeased. That seems to be fixed.

With the +4dam to phoenix +5 to hit when shifted has also seemingly been added on.

There seems to actions now with the forms... I got this unexpected...
With the roar of a forest fire, the shriek of the Phoenix fills the air! (might be old... I don't know)

There is some help files... help phoenix, help forms.

Innate skills like phase/breath/blast/bite won't show when you prac... however phase door will... but only after you have used it once after you shifted.

Apparently the ferret bug that got me killed earlier, has been fixed. But a reboot will be required.

Apparently the troubles with cobra form have been fixed.

This was a bug, or 'feature' call it what you will. Yes, its unfortunate its been fixed.

Things i've noticed on the changes are... +some hit (dont recall what i had before) +6dam on piasa +200hp on piasa +15mana in human (havent checked forms mana). I didnt really look too hard at it due to the time I was on.

Don't know for sure, but I heard Druid primes were getting buffed up more than druid 2nd to 4th. Someone else would have to report on this.

Gonna have to see if i can drown my Sea dragon, unless thats been fixed too.

Apparently something about shifting and temp items is fixed.

The number of attacks you have is now shown in score.

Apparently chopping shifted druids won't make you lose xp, but I have not checked it yet.

Not sure if the ferret bug where you lose all your hp's has been fixed either.

So we now have more hp's and more damage, but our mana efficentcy has been hit quite hard by the removal of the 'full health on shift return bug.' I used to be able to run 5-6 times at kalamari for about two rounds, now I am out of mana after 3 because I have to heal self.

Overall, the changes are actually a bit of a nerfing... but funnily enough, I think I would rather have it this way, than the old way with the bugs.

I'd like to see our prime spell, shield of thorns, costing 60 mana, last more than 1.5 rounds against big mobs... or maybe increased hp's in the wellberries since now we also have to heal ourselves after shift returning.

A huge thanks to Judge, who has single handedly wiped out probably 20 or so druid bugs... I for one and sincerly grateful.

question.....when shifting back to human form you are displeased that your human form is not full? is this when your shifted form is full or when you shifted form is hurt?

To Alias... it seems that shifting back to human, when form is hurt, relates in % to how much human form is hurt.
e.g. 2000hp piasa hurt to 1000hp... will shift back to human form with about same % (50% in this case) full. So 800hp human would be 400hp.
Not really tested this to any level, but it seems close enough.

The bug before would allow a 700hp remaing piasa, to shift back to human form with almost full health, instead of 33% health as was probabily intended.

Usage: automatic
Level: Druid 15
Manual: the script of transmutative talents

When a druid assumes an animal form, her own animal nature becomes much
more pronounced. This makes it hard for her to perform fancy tactical
maneuvers like disengaging from combat or protecting somebody, even if
she is quite capable of doing so in human form. However, advanced druids
can learn to keep their presence of mind when an animal through the
meditative techniques of the Equanimity skill.

A successful Equanimity check lets a shapeshifted druid use the skills
protect, disengage, rescue, and retreat as well as she could use them in
her human form.

The more powerful animal shapes are harder to control. Thus, even a druid
who has mastered the Equanimity skill as much as is humanly possible will
still have trouble behaving in a civilized manner when the passions of a
dragon are burning in her breast.

Can we make this useful too!? :)

It seems ferret has been changed a bit, it now seems to get wounded by rooms procs etc....

<41hp 650ma 75mv 4.5ac -7al 136062792xp +26mr>
A dull grey dart from the south hits you!
That Really did HURT!
You feel sickly.

This one here I got fried by the lightning bolt, and so did the person who came to rescue me. At least I can stop this with spellshield... but I don't recall having to ever do this as ferret, and I've hit the corpse in crypt quite often.

<51hp 571ma 118mv 3.9ac -10al 178419770xp +40mr>
A bolt of lightning hits you in the chest!

You are mortally wounded, and will die soon, if not aided.

<-8hp 571ma 145mv 0.1ac -10al 178419770xp +55mr>

Also when I die, the weight of my robe goes from about 8 to 277. Renting seems to fix the problem.

It doesn't really make sense that mobs would use stream attacks against ferrets when they don't (for the most part) attack them when they're in the same room.
