Tumbling is not really a counter / parry anyways, considering you tumbled and still got brutally massacred

The messages and the functioning of the skill are two different things. I assure you that using the skill will decrease the damage u sustain during melee combat.

As you can see, the cook has three attacks. First attack is parried, second attack is tumbled, and the reduced dmg message from that attack follows immediately after. The third attack goes through regularly.

Tumbling is a little bit different from some of the other skills in that it displays right before the attack, but then displays the effect of that attack right after.
