Some CLERIC skill ideas

Please post your ideas to improve our mud.

New characters overwhelmingly have cleric in their classo. If you look at the who list, some of the absolute newbies may not have it but basically everybody from single 20 to pre avatar has it. (Of course all the pre-new-class characters have it, but most of these characters I'm talking about have new classes.) So if I said "powerful" maybe I meant "desirable". Anyway, there's no need for new cleric abilities right now.

Really, the players are plenty buff, it's time to make smarter mobs.

To Mannu:
Spliting damage also great power.
supplicates takes on self 2 mob attacks i would say its crazy a lot
not random like parry but constant
Only one problem , levels, cleric prime geting good spliting suplicates around av20 .
We discused with Choong couple of kills once, he used to do kills with fiend and i was able kill preaty same mobs in past with 4 liches, now no chance at all for me unless if will found some tricks and yes its 20-40m exp huge fat hardhitting mobs.
I often playing and chating with 2 beloved clerics , some times helping tham, some times instructing on kills, some times shouting on tham. Think can say seen how thay learned mud from 0-now. Suplicates realy easy thair life and made tham stronger and able to do something after liches was removed. Only one problem left , thay both so lazy get corpses for suplicates but its humman laziness nothing alse, whan was liches ingame i didnt start mudding befor corpse run (10-16 lichable corpses) no matter do i need tham or not. What i wona say: after liches removed from old classo, charms and controll undead idea screwed by few imms, supplicate make cleric prime exeptional if not count necros
And you all clerics prime should thank Kjartan for it, and be loyal followers of Kjartan only because he powered your prime

PS: Kjar thanks for fixing embalm

[quote="12345":3favhu7x]Wrong topic. Necros, druids and clerics pick up some extra power at 2x40 and 3x40 in the form of summons, forms and supplicants respectively. The question is, what do mages get at 2x40 and 3x40?[/quote:3favhu7x]

The answer is: mages "pick up some extra power at 2x40 and 3x40 in the form of summons, forms and supplicants" (c) 12345 due to their second, third and/or quad classes if they were picked...

I dunno, when summon undead was made a necro spell and supplication became the substitute for non necro classo, mage seemed to lose out somehow cause clerics got prime supplication and summon undead was buffed up nicely(with cool levels and different types of undead to summon). Id personally like to see a new mage spell not cause i cant solo crap or mages are underpowered, just something to have fun with. Besides playing sloth is about having fun (well for me it is).

Mages

Postby Avatar » Thu May 12, 2005 7:06 am

The str spell builds up nicely as mages gain caster levels. I'm sure there are others as well.

As far as having fun, did you pick up the Grease spell? We've had quite a lot of fun with that spell! :) It's quite hilarious.

I have no clue what the heck Gnu is talking about down there...

12345 was talking about other classes getting better spells at higher lvl,
but u changed it and put "Mage"... Which is this issue, because mages don't
get more "bonus" at 2x40 or even 3x40.

Traditionally, Gnu's correct. You typically pick up extra abilities as you level your 2nd, 3rd and 4th classes. However, with the advent of the Druid class, a new trend has started. Not only does the a prime druid pick up whatever abilities his next class has, he gets the nice 2x40 form as well. The necro summons and cleric supplicants are similiar.

Mages have bonus damage to firewind at Avatar levels, but Druids and Clerics (even bards) pick up bigger and better at Avatar as well. I don't really see the same kind of boost that the other casting classes get at 2x40 and 3x40, like a boost to blasting power or even just some extra mems.

Of course, I don't see any of that for any of the non-casting classes either. I'm sure thieves would jump for joy to recieve a bonus backstab multipier at 2x40 and 3x40, similiarly for monks, or bonus damage reduction. Warriors probably wouldn't mind an extra parry and I'm sure bards can think of something...

Must find caffeine, very tired...

I've been saying PRIME Thiefs should get a 3rd backstab.
Now now, before all the flames it will be at a lower %.
3x40 Thiefs should have 5% chance of a 3rd backstab. Which is like a proc
% or something close to it. once they hit 4x40 (lvl 1 Tard) they have it at
10% to do 3rd stab. Every 10 lvls, another 5% increase or 1% every 2 lvl.
So a lvl 40 Tard should have a backstab at 30%.

that would rock! i would be all for that 3rd backstab % chance!

currently with +9hit +16dam +30stab dam

w/ 3 stabs i could do some major damage

OR

I'm glad to see we're completely off topic...

I would not be asking for more stabs if I were you two. In fact, I'd probably put more damage on the back burner if they'd put better hit rate on the table. I think Diku is an amazing of example of whether it's better to hit harder or more often. Harder didn't win.

Thats cause Diku apply poison, focus, sing war, and then stabs.
With using two other skill/spell he will stab harder then most ppl can.
Plus he has them +1dam +1str boots at lvl 2x40, which is WAY WAY WAY
too good for a restrict of 2x40. Should be 3x40 or even lvl1 tard.

I think you'll find that he doesn't sing Gods, which is exactly my point.
