I feel a little mythed...

I'm two levels off avatar... I thought I would be able to solo some pretty decent sized mobs... and after failing badly at the polar bear last night, instead of being a notch off avatar, I feel like and inch off newbie.

Truth told me Stryx was hitting the polar bear shifted, can some one explain why I can not... do avatar level's really make that much difference?

Truth tells me I should quit shifting and run like a mage... but my feeling is that he just likes mages cause that is his style. I feel a little disillusioned at the moment now... should I just keep levelling?

Stryx, how are you killing this mob? Do you, or could you make a run log?

1) Stryx = -12 Wraithformed, Spectraled, with alot more mana regen / mana than you, the -2 ac means a lot, not to mention iirc wraithform is based on ac as well which makes it that much stronger... The mana / mana regen allows him to shift unshift heal up a few more times than you can.

2) If you dont learn to play druid style you'll still feel like a newb at 5x40

3) Running like a mage isn't bad whether your mage prime or not, well for clerics atleast. Even lyme chicken is mage style without being mage prime if you do it right...

I suggest not going straight for the larger mobs, probably not the best idea, start with mobs that might take a couple runs use nightmare get your flee's down right and go from there. Mobs that can kill you in 1-2 rounds aren't quite the mobs to start with when solo'ing. Learn to play druid and its pretty strong.

The difference between 4x40 and 5x40 is significant no matter what you're doing, even just being able to heal yourself with tard healbonus and get a lite that lasts a decent amount of time does a lot.

And a blanket agreement with everything the pizza bird said :)

Maybe its just me ,but when i leveled Alias from 4.39 to 5x40 it made a difference. Just one level made a difference for me, what will 40 do for you?

play what you like and like what you play.

[u:9nlsftzc]Forge note[/u:9nlsftzc]
My time as a mortal is almost gone, but I shall stay here, in this place, to try
to help those unfortunate enough to walk this corrupted land.
Here is my last and greatest spell, with it you can forge an item that stands
both within and without life itself.
To create it you must find the following 9 items.
Petrified wood radiant with energy
Melted Earth set within the silver blood of the land.
A molten creatures deadly liquid.
A remnant of that which carries inside the heat of the sun
Unclean portion from Deaths poor cousin.
A piece of one that is undead
A Guardians token taken from his corpse
A nail from a cursed changing.
Dark metal made into deaths last kiss
These items brought to my shade can be forged into an item that commands life and death.
May it help you, poor damned soul that wanders here.
