There are two items named "brown houserobe" on eq list.
One is -0.2ac + dex, other is -str:

Got two -str variants so far.
How to get +dex version? Is it still ingame? Maybe some aq?

no idea but there is also a relatively cheap drachma robe (elven cloak of agility) thats -0.5ac +1dex
It might be better to aim for that than spend a lot of effort chasing down a -0.2 +1dex robe

Sure, that was an idea. But before spending drachma, i wanted to check if it works

I noticed in msdp values, that forms dont have max dex. Like basic dex 18, and perma_dex 19 for owlbear.
So decided to check, if i can wear robe +dex with shapeshift 3x40 clasp and get -1.5 more ac(with elven cloak).

But today poped another cheap cloak with +dex - it dont work, no additional dex
Kinda msdp perma stats for forms bugged. Or something else preventing that trick.

That's because a simple +dex doesn't add dex past 18. You need a maxdex item to add a dex point past 18. For example, wurm form has 16 dex only but you can raise it by finding 2 shift dex points somehow to get that -1 ac bump at 18 dex.

Maxstats also have another limitation based on your stat order. If you roll dex 4th, you can't even get 19 dex with a maxdex item until you've gotten to 4x40. Assuming you're druid prime and 3x40 based on your comments. You can get 3 maxwis points right now (eg: emblem of the rose slapped onto a shiftable shield).

Further clarification: forms can have stats beyond 18 and have no cap to their stats assuming you can figure out a way to get maxstat points shiftable. Good luck with that. Just regular stats won't help if the form's stat is at 18 or beyond.

One more clarification regarding maxdex. Up to 18, dex only adds on even numbers (ie: 14, 16, 18, with nothing on 15, 17, etc.). That isn't the case beyond 18. Each point beyond 18 is a straight .5 ac addition (19 adds .5, 20 1.0, and 21 1.5 and so on).

I am talking about that:


On right side is array with msdp values.
msdp dex_perm value is 19, but when i wear that +dex item and shift, i still have 18 dex in owlbear.

And i know only two ways to raise dex in form atm - +dex rune and +dex robe with clasp. Havent seen any other ways to raise dex.

Wonder, if +max_dex rune and +dex rune(or item) will do somethings for forms.
Any imm wanna check that?

Again... normal dex does not raise dex above 18. No normal stat eq raises anything above 18.

I already told you how it works. If form has 18 dex, normal dex doesn't do anything. If form dex is below 18, normal dex does do something. There are a *few* ways to get dex/maxdex to shift, but that's part of the fun.

Forms were altered - nerfed slightly, especially owlbear. So that specific issue with msdp may be related to that. But I really don't care about msdp - I just explain that no matter what, you cannot raise any stat above 18 without maxstat points. You cannot raise form stats beyond 18 with normal stat points but can with maxstats.
