Celestials Mini Quest Updates - Halo of Radiance

Postby Akasha » Fri Apr 27, 2007 3:20 am
Around 3:00 system time, the Lyrran Priestess announced the awakening of the first relic, and that her scrying had revealed it was in the southern hemisphere, south of Valkyrie. She was unable to discern anything more on its location, but concerned adventurers went on the hunt for the celestial relics. Yinao found that the Dark Angel in Hades had possession of the Celestial Halo of Radiance, and a large group assembled to recover it. Despite assistance from a legion of lemures and the demon, Nalfeshnee, the angel was defeated and the relic recovered. The adventurers were treated to this sight:

The Celestial Halo of Radiance floats up from the corpse of the Dark Angel.
The Celestial Halo of Radiance explodes in a brilliant flash of godly light and flies up into the heavens.
You feel as though you have been touched by the gods!
You are surrounded by a radiant light.
A dark haze precipitates around your body.
You have been completely restored.
You have gained 20 drachma.

More to come as quest continues...[/quote:u8jhanr7]

Celesitials minis updates - Helm of the Dragon

Postby Akasha » Fri Apr 27, 2007 3:22 am
After informing the Priestess of the relic's recovery, she informed the world that another relic had returned, in a place of great darkness, and that some great force was preventing her attempts to scry on it. Despite limited information again, Atwell found the next in the Shadow Realm. Several legions of lemures and an immense dracolich guarded Rystoniden and his Celestial Helm of the Dragon.
The fearsome creature struck down all who opposed it save Edd, who managed to rescue all his companions from its lair and most were successfully brought back from death. The Lyrran Priestess, who was apparently watching from afar, told us she had seen our demise as it occurred but was prevented from rendering assistance by some unseen force.
Finally the adventurers returned to finish the job:
Rystoniden has been banished to the ethereal plane!
You receive 3711101 experience points as your share.
Everything Rystoniden was carrying suddenly drops to the ground.
You feel as though you have been touched by the gods!
You are surrounded by a radiant light.
A dark haze precipitates around your body.
You have been completely restored.
You have gained 30 drachma.
Atwell picks up gold coins.
Atwell splits 2500000 coins. Your share is 125000 coins.

Celesitials minis updates - Gauntlets of the Forger

Postby Akasha » Fri Apr 27, 2007 3:23 am
At about 8pm system time, the Lyrran Priestess announced the arrival of the next relic, somewhere deep underground. After much searching, Atwell and Yinao found a much souped up Balor Demon...and lost their hp. Whatever...lives are expendable when you've got high-powered clerics on your side. This was fortunate since the balor demon smashed the large group of adventurers several times over and made the rest flee wildly around the matterhorn with its proc. Sadly despite the extreme effort required for its death, it popped only a heavy iron ring.

The creature's existence led Verin to believe the relic was deeper inside the matterhorn, and indeed Hyperion carried the Celestial Gauntlets of the Forger, and was guarded by legions of quasits. The legions were easily dispatched. The God, not so much.

After the first cf stick was used, the god was still barely scratched and most of the group was dead. Several tries later, a plan to massively overheal the tank was implemented and no more than two characters died each run following that. The Lyrran Priestess showed up in the middle of one run and restored the party several times. So extreme was the exchange of hp and mana on both sides that the world was torn asunder and brought to a Crashing halt.

The gods soon restored the world to its prior condition, and the party returned and rapidly finished off the errant god, returning the Celestial Gauntlets to their home in the heavens and gaining 30 drachma.

Mortals now wait anxiously for word of the next relic's return...[/quote:1gjext1y]

Celesitials minis updates - Ribbons of Peace

Postby Akasha » Fri Apr 27, 2007 3:31 am
The Lyrran Priestess once again informed the world of an appearing relic:
'A glimmer awakens... a place full of serpents.. evil slithers at every corner'
'It is dark, but the glimmering light of yet another relic has peaked through the darkness'
'i hear the mumblings of a powerful mage nearby, say the relic'

Deep inside the Dark Covenant, behind bon and cheval, the Celestial Ribbons of Peace were found in the possession of Tanra, Mistress of Spiders.

A truly beautiful demoness, Tanra flexes her tempting, voluptuous body,
which shows clearly beneath the tight black leather body suit she wears.
She smiles a wickedly alluring smile as she motions for you to come closer.
Her beauty is so captivating that it is easy to lose sight of the six extra
legs folded neatly behind her, and her large spider's abdomen.
Tanra, mistress of spiders is in excellent condition.

Tanra had a nasty habit of poisoning everyone who came to fight her, and spawned swarms of spiderlings who did damage all around, plus had some sort of lag proc. Despite these great powers, Tanra was defeated much faster than the previous relic-holders, and the tank Kong somehow managed to only require raising once.

The ribbons were returned to the gods for yet another large chunk of drachma, and the Lyrran Priestess offered an update on the Relics' status:
The Lyrran Priestess quests-- ' congratualtions heroes'
The Lyrran Priestess quests-- ' that is the only relic I've located today... may yee rest well'
Machete quests-- ' How many relics remain?'
The Lyrran Priestess quests-- ' 10'

May there be adventurers around when the next relics emerge...
Or in the words of the Priestess...
The Lyrran Priestess quests-- ' the gods save the relic if no "true heroes" are up to the challenge'[/quote:267teofy]
I'm not forsaken, but I am the only one.

The Relics So Far

Postby Akasha » Fri Apr 27, 2007 3:42 am

These pieces of god-forged armor have been thoroughly documented over the centuries. They are known as the Celestial Relics, this is but a brief summary:

XXX Celestial Helm of the Dragon – RECOVERED

Celestial Shield of Elemental Resistance – Wielded by the leader of the Celestials, believed to have aided the Celestials in facing the chaotic forces of the Outer Realms.

XXX Celestial Gauntlets of the Forger – RECOVERED

XXX Celestial Halo of Radiance – RECOVERED

Celestial Wings of Truth - Worn by Celestial priests and mages, believed to bestow the wearer with limitless magical might.

XXX Celestial Ribbons of Peace - RECOVERED

Breath of Celestial Life – Believed to have been captured by a priest of the elder gods at the moment of each Celestial’s death. The breath is legend to be the dying breath exhaled, and is believed to bestow ever-lasting life onto anyone who breathes it.

Essence of Immortality – Collected from the Celestials before death, each vial contains a single drop of Celestial blood. Legend tells that opening the vial will release the life blood of the Celestials and grant life to the unliving.

Celestial Standard – The eternal image of a Phoenix rising from the ashes, this standard was held high by the leader of the Celestials as they charged into battle against the ancient evil. Bards sing songs of how the sight of the Standard inspired the Celestial’s followers to battle with inhuman, almost godly, strength and willpower.

Halberd of the Celestials – The powerful god-forged weapon believed to have delivered the staggering deathblow to the ancient god of chaos. This was the only relic of the Celestial Wars to have been successfully destroyed by the followers of the ancient evil. The pieces of the Halberd are believed to have been scattered and left in the care of vile creatures whose sole purpose is to defend the evil from the weapon of ancients. Only one being left alive knows the possible location of these pieces, but the secret is held securely.
