WTB/WTT tri/hex/oct

Postby Choong » Tue Nov 15, 2005 2:49 am

I'm looking to roll my newbie so I'm looking to buy/trade for rolls. Trying to collect about about 100 to 200 tokens.

I'm not sure what eq is good these days but I have a stockpile of old stuff that I can trade. Prob obsidian pearl or some other eq that u might have in mind. I also have some spare cps etc

If you want coins, just name me a price. Not sure if I would pay a lot more for an oct as getting 10 10 10 10 10 is not exactly that great a roll. But if I have the spare cash or short of tokens, I might just buy them all

Anyway, catch me online, mudmail or email me at ycchai@gmail.com

While it is true that you can get a 10 10 10 10 10 on an oct, I think you miss the point. When I have kept track 2 out of 3 rolls have a low stat less than 10, which would be rerolled by an Oct. While you may still not end up with a great stat, it is effectively like rolling 2-3 other tokens, particularly when you roll a lot of them together. What it ultimatly boils down to is if you roll 20 octs in a row, statictically you would need to roll 60 other tokens to get the same results (the risk being you roll a triple 18 with a stat of 9 that it rerolls).

In the end I agree rolling 1 or 2 octs and expecting a good result is naive, but rolling 20 or 25 in a row really is like rolling 60 to 75 triangles.

I'd be curious to see your list of rerolls. Of the ones I have and those I've collected from others, less than half would be rerolled. Not to say they're useless... but rolling 20 would be more like rolling 35 in my estimation.

You may be right, the last spreadsheet I had was done a few years ago. I'll dig it up anyway and send it to you.
