Problems inputting password

Postby Cloudtheholy » Wed Jun 29, 2005 2:48 pm

I know this sounds extremely newbish of me but whenever I input my character name and then push yes it asks me for the password for my character and it wont let me input anything. I use windows xp the newest version if that has anything to do with it.

You can't see what you type at the password prompt. That's so people looking over your shoulder or scrolling through your back window can't see your password. So, you are probably successfully inputting your password and just don't see it.

Local Echo issue?

Postby BlackRaindrops » Fri Aug 26, 2005 4:23 pm

This may be an issue with local echo.

For the XP telnet, this can be fixed with:

Disconnect then go to Start/Run and type in Telnet then SET LOCALECHO, then OPEN SLOTHMUD.ORG 4444

But like Kjartan said, people may want to hijack your char if they can see your password, so keep it safe.

Duh, the port's 6101, bah, that's what I get for staying away so long. I miss my boy Blaster. :( Hope he comes back soon.
